Spungella should be on every up and coming CG animator’s blogroll. Jean-Denis Haas is an excellent animator, and is sharing some great tips on how to get good at CG animation quickly, and avoid the common student mistakes. A lot of the material has been very helpful to me as I’ve recently been preparing a CG reel while I learn traditional animation.

By far my favorite part of the site is the Acting Reference section. It looks like Jean-Denis and I share a passion for nerding out on film-making techniques. There’s some really great stuff on this blog, and I suggest you check it out. Because of this section, I finally watched both The Illusionist, and The Prestige, two excellent films I definitely recommend. I especially liked The Prestige, and it’s one of my favorite films now…at least for the time being…
