} | The Man Who Planted Trees (1987) by Frederic Back |
“A man’s destiny can be truly wonderful.” This film is so beautiful, so inspiring, and so unique, that I almost didn’t post this chewed up, subtitled, internet version as it doesn’t do it justice. But then I thought of those who might not have seen it, and shouldn’t be denied the opportunity. For more of the genius that it Frederic Back, click here.

This is an important film and one of the most perfect uses of animation conveying complex emotion and message with every facet of sound and design in an entertaining and beautiful way. Like good art should it communicates in a way other media could not and is poetic and spiritually uplifting all the more so because it is animated.
