The Cartoon Art Museum presents the first career retrospective of the work of famed British cartoonist and illustrator Ronald Searle in Northern California. Story Artist Matt Jones, Exhibition Curator and longtime manager of the Ronald Searle Tribute blog, has assembled the best of Searle’s work produced while on reportage assignment around the United States. From Provincetown to Hawaii, Alaska to New Orleans, this Englishman with a wry sense of humor and biting satirical wit observed all the cultural icons of the decade spanning the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s.
On November 15th, Illustrator Cedric Hohnstadt, will release his much anticipated “Pose Drawing Spark Book“. His book was successfully crowd funded in August and will be officially released during this year’s CTN Expo. Cedric sent me an advance copy to review, and I think it’s fantastic. This is a great resource for animation artists. I found of number of tips and tricks I’ll be employing in my own work from here on out. Cedric has referenced tips from some of the best animation books out there, cut the fat, and included a number of really great brain-storming tools for you to use to give your work a lot more appeal and charm.
To celebrate the release we’ve decided to give one lucky reader a package consisting of a hard copy of the book, a digital copy, and a nice reference bookmark with experts from the book printed on both sides (iPad not included).
