A Mouth Full of Words: Visually Consistent Acoustic Redubbing

Fresh off the press from Disney’s Research Hub, here’s another example of the subjective nature of mouth shapes. While the video highlights the new tech Disney has developed, I’m more interested in how it affects an animator’s workflow, encouraging us to keep the mouth shapes simple, yet specific enough (if that makes any sense), and leave the rest to the audience’s interpretation of the dialogue.
