The East Coast’s largest animation festival is back and currently open for submissions. Animation Block Party will be celebrating its 14th annual event from July 27-30, 2017 in Brooklyn, NY. For the past three years, ABP has drawn over 5,000 attendees to a weekend packed with diverse films from all over the world. Screenings of iconic classics on 35mm and guest-curated programs are common threads each year, but the festival really prides itself on presenting the newest and most exciting voices in student and independent animation. With award categories including Original Design, Animation for Kids, Experimental Animation and Best Under A Minute Movie, there is an extensive range of programming available.
The early bird deadline is fast approaching on March 10, with a regular deadline of May 19, 2017. Student filmmakers are afforded a discounted entry fee on all deadlines. Head over to www.animationblock.com for more info on the festival and to submit your film.
